With more than 29 million Linkedin users in France, knowing how to stand out as a job seeker is essential. In this context, a specialist in the field gives us his advice to maximize the impact of your post and attract recruiters.
Get out of the game on Linkedin is not just a matter of content … Indeed, to boost the visibility of your publications, it is essential to understand the functioning of the algorithm and to adopt good practices. Angèle, expert in social networks, known under the Instagram account @aglstudio_communication, shares her tips with the Women’s Journal.
“The algorithm promotes publications that quickly generate commitment”she explains. A post that quickly receives likescomments and sharing is automatically highlighted by the platform and reaches a large audience, far beyond direct contacts. In addition, the format of the post has a crucial role. “Carousels or PDF documents are particularly effective because they encourage users to interact by scrolling the pages”explains the Community Manager. “These contents generate an average of 20 to 30 % more interactions than a simple text or a static image”. Short videos (lasting 1 to 3 minutes) are also very efficient: “They capture attention and get three times more commitment than classic content”, she underlines. In other words, the more content encourages interaction, the more it will be highlighted.
Angèle then recommends job researchers to present their CV and cover letter in the form of a PDF document attached to a concise and catchy post. “The accompanying text must be impactful from the first lines, because Linkedin shows only three lines before the user clicks on ‘see more'”, Does she advise. According to her, an effective introduction could be: “In search of new opportunities in digital marketing, I share my CV and my cover letter here: I would be delighted to exchange with you!”. In addition, the addition of relevant hashtags optimizes the scope of the post: “#Recrutement, #emploi, #marketingdigital … These beacons help to reach the right targets”, she said.
But for all these elements to work optimally, you still have to know when to publish. “In the morning, professionals start their day by consulting their emails and social networks”says the expert. “Almost 50 to 60 % of the active audience is connected at that time”, she continues. At the end of the afternoon, the dynamics are similar: “Between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., priority tasks are over and people take a moment to interact on LinkedIn, with an active audience that sometimes reaches 65 %”. She concludes: “It is for this reason that Wednesday slots between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. or 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. are ideal”.
Why this specific day? “Statistics show that users are more active in the middle of the week, with a blatant peak on Wednesday. That day, we are still in the momentum of the start of the week, without switching to the slowdown in the weekend”, reports Angèle. In short, a precious advice that could propel your application at the top of the list and help you get the job of your dreams.
