Many French people like to enjoy this drink in the morning, at all ages. Firstly, because it is tasty, but also because it gives the impression of stocking up on vitamins. Some brands even extol the merits of a boost effect, yet this sensation only comes from the sugar present inside. Indeed, if you consume a very sugary drink, you will have a spike in blood sugar which will drop very quickly and make you want sugar even more. You will have understood, if you are looking to lose weight or stay in shape, this drink is absolutely counterproductive.
What exactly are we talking about? Orange juice of course! In a TikTok video, Dr. Jimmy Mohamed explains: “If you squeeze 3 oranges, you get a glass of orange juice except that juice makes you fat, unlike oranges.” Remember, in a fruit you have vitamins and fiber that keep you full. Juice can never replace a whole fruit. “Drinking orange juice corresponds to absorbing a large quantity of sugar, approximately 25g of sugar per 250ml”, specifies the famous doctor. And after drinking it, you will never have that feeling of fullness, so you can drink one, two or even 3 glasses. Whereas if you cut 3 oranges into quarters, we’re betting that you simply won’t be able to taste them entirely.
For the body, it is therefore more interesting to consume the fruit directly than to drink it in juice. On a daily basis, choose fruit rather than juice and if you really dream of a good fruit juice, why not! Remember to limit yourself to one drink to avoid excessive calorie intake and weight gain.
