Weight loss is often associated with drastic food restrictions, and desserts are at the top of the “prohibition” list. But is it really necessary to completely give up these sweet little pleasures to achieve its goals?
We always told you, to lose weight, certain foods are to be banished from your diet. In particular, sweet pleasures like desserts. But, are they really incompatible with food rebalancing? Dietitians have decided in the columns of the magazine Eatingwell.
To lose weight, it is essential to take care of your diet by consuming various foods and by practicing regular physical activity. Precisely, the key is to cover a maximum of different food groups to meet your nutritional needs and thus, do not suffer from cravings during the day. However, is it really reasonable to revel in a dessert when you try to lose weight? If we believe nutrition specialists: “You can eat desserts while achieving your weight loss goals.” Depriging up completely dessert may seem effective in the short term, but this can cause frustration, even food compulsions. An too strict diet can be difficult to last. It is therefore often more judicious to learn to integrate pleasures, such as desserts, in a globally balanced diet. It is not a question of eating a chocolate fondant every night, but rather of savoring a dessert from time to time, in small portion, and with conscience. Especially since many alternatives allow you to have fun without excess: chocolate mousse with avocado, zucchini cake, brownie with black beans, etc. Reducing sugar, using complete flours or including fruit in your desserts are good ways to lighten your recipes without losing in taste. The important thing is to show moderation, choose healthier options when possible, and especially not to feel guilty. Sustainable weight loss goes through a balance, not through frustration.
To put it simply, no food is prohibited in a healthy diet, even if you try to lose weight. Choose a small portion of something full, eat it slowly and savor each bite. Focus on mindfulness and present while you eat, and you will see that you will quickly feel full.
