Not very practical on a daily basis, it just needed to evolve and this was the case, thanks to the ingenious ideas of the KAST-design agency. Discover without delay how this kitchen was transformed.
Under the leadership of Magda Mietka, interior designer and co-founder of KAST-design at the time, now co-founder of Celeste Design Studio in Marseille, the renovation of this apartment was thought out down to the smallest detail. Beautiful materials, elegant palette and careful decoration intertwine to compose a refined interior, just like the client who was going to live here.
Located in the 4th arrondissement of Paris, this 50 m² apartment belonged to an artist-photographer, who used it both as accommodation and a studio for his photo shoots. Flooded with natural light thanks to its numerous windows and benefiting from a ceiling height of 3.10 meters, this space, although vast, still lacked definition and character.
On the kitchen side, it was laid out in an I shape and slid under the slope. A not very functional arrangement, would you agree? Located at the end of the apartment, it had an island, but was not to the tastes of the new owner of the place. During the renovation, it gave way to a new space, much better thought out and more adapted to its needs.
On the right, a very decorative office has been created, literally and figuratively. It has been cleverly arranged and is decorated with an &TRADITION wall light, a Kraft table lamp from Ecart International and another, the Cestita from Santa & Cole, placed on the shelf. Away from the living room, it invites concentration. Comfortably seated in her MASSPRODUCTIONS armchair, the owner can let her gaze rest on her bedroom, visible through the custom-made glass roof created by a carpenter.
To the left, behind the glass door, this intimate space is completed by the brand new bedroom, offering a breathtaking view of the Iron Lady. Inside, custom-made, full-height joinery has been installed under the attic, and a large bed is nestled under the roof window. Enough to give yourself sweet dreams.
Designed as a tailor-made setting, the apartment has now found a clear and coherent soul, where each space naturally finds its place. A renovation which proves that with the right choices, even 50 m² can offer a bright and perfectly controlled lifestyle.
