This new concept from the capital may well change our way of conceiving celebrations.
Weddings are more and more expensive and many couples are struggling to finance their big day. Some are facing a double challenge: finding economic solutions while managing the last -minute withdrawals that leave empty places on D -Day. Conversely, many people dream of attending weddings but are rarely invited, especially those who have a limited family circle or few close friends. A Parisian startup has imagined a solution as original as it is unexpected to meet these needs.
Indeed, guest gifts including in particular the checks are often struggling to reimburse all of the expenses. Generally, this mainly compensates for the cost of the caterer. So, to have nothing (or almost) to pay the day of their wedding, some couples called on a French company, which innovates on the nuptial market. The Vivin company, founded in 2024 by Katia Lekarski, proposes to connect couples who marry strangers ready to pay to attend their ceremony. To buy a ticket, you must register on the invitarian application and pay at least 150 euros per entry, depending on the reception location. The company takes a certain percentage on the reservation.
“”I thought: What if we could pay tickets for a wedding and help the couple who get married this way? “explains the founder to Guardian. The concept works via an application where bride and groom can select 5 to 10 paid guests after consulting their profiles. These “mysteries guests” participate in the whole day: ceremony, wine of honor, meal and dance evening. Jennifer, 48, and Paulo, 50, will be the first couple to test this formula in late August in a manor near Paris. “If we can see the profiles in advance on the application and choose who to accept, it can be something quite original to do”Jennifer told our colleagues. The mysteries guests will have to respect the “chic and elegant” dress code and the rules of decorum.
The “unknown” guests undertake to respect strict rules: “Dressing properly, arriving on time, drinking in moderation and not publishing or sharing photos without authorization”, specifies Katia Lekarski. Six marriages are already planned, mainly in the Paris region. Laurène, 29, is one of the first customers: “I don’t have a big family so I don’t often go to weddings, it’s great to be able to live a wedding and discover different traditions, even if they are strangers.” The company is inspired by the Indian concept “Join My Wedding” which allows foreign tourists to attend traditional marriages as cultural experience.
