In the middle of summer, driving without air conditioning can quickly become a real ordeal for the driver, as for passengers. 30 ° C outside, sometimes more inside. The air is suffocating, the open windows are brewing hot. And it’s even worse when you are stuck in traffic jams during peak hours, or on the holiday route. The back glued to the seat, sweat pearl, the steering wheel burns the hands, just like the gear lever. Result: inside the vehicle, the nerves drop fairly quickly. In these moments, we bitterly regret that the air conditioning has returned the soul.
But why does she break down, precisely? Several causes can explain it. The circuit lacks refrigerant gas or has a leak. The compressor can be worn or blocked. A fuse may have jumped. The cabin filter can be dirty. The fan may no longer work. Even the simple button that allows you to turn on the air conditioning can be involved. Clearly, many elements can make the system unusable. And depending on the room to change, the invoice at the mechanic can quickly climb.
