It starts tonight, December 20th. First episode of Dreaming of Milan Cortina 2026. On the shoulders of Giantsthe docuseries created by Allianz, produced in partnership with Dentsu Sport, Yam 112003 and in collaboration with Rai. The giants are the greats who have already been there, the dreamers are six Olympic and Paralympic athletes running for the Games, as well as Allianz Ambassadors in Italy for Milano Cortina 2026.
Organized into six episodes, the docuseries is broadcast every Saturday on Rai 2 and streaming on RaiPlay from 20 December to 24 January. The athletes are Sara Conti, Nicolò Macii, Nikolaj Memola, Giuseppe Romele, Martina Valcepina and Martina Vozza. Accompanying them on their journey towards Milano Cortina 2026 are six Italian legends who have made the history of Italian sport: Paolo De Chiesa, Barbara Fusar Poli, Kristian Ghedina, Maurizio Margaglio, Francesca Porcellato, Cristian Zorzi.
In the six episodes of 25 minutes each, the stories of athletes and “giants” of the past are intertwined, in a sharing of athletic and more personal experiences. The episodes are broadcast at around 7.00 pm on Raidue and will then be shown again. from the following Sunday to Friday in the late evening and finally on RaiPlay they will be streamed from the first on-air.
At the end of the whole thing, a 45-minute documentary will bring together the most significant portraits of the protagonists leaving for the Games which will then be imminent: it will be broadcast on Rai 2 on January 31st at around 7.00 pm, with a repeat from the following day on Rai Sport.
Stonight we begin with a red thread from Turin 2006 to Milan Cortina 2026: because accompanying the couple Sara Conti and Niccolò Macii will be Maurizio Margaglio, protagonist twenty years ago with Barbara Fusar Poli of a golden era for Italian figure skating, even if not crowned with Olympic success at home. Their episode is titled “Talk to each other without words”, an evocative title of what happens on the ice and which recalls the fiery look thrown at Maurizio Margaglio by his partner in Turin 2006 which toured the world.
