Number of steps taken, heart rate, analysis of distances traveled … Connected watches offer many features for daily life and sports practice. For men, women, in iPhone or Android version, here is our selection.
The connected watch is an electronic object that has the shape of a watch, connected to a smartphone. There are more and more models on this development market. Here are the essential criteria to choose your connected watch …
First, before choosing a connected watch, make sure it is compatible with your smartphone. Today, connected watches are mainly designed for Android and Apple (iOS) smartphones. Android watches can work with Android and Apple smartphones. On the other hand, the Apple Watch only walk with iPhones. Samsung models have their own system, compatible with Android.
The choice of your connected watch will be done mainly depending on what you want to do with it. There are rather basic models, for uses limited to the display of notifications. The most sophisticated models offer use approaching that of the smartphone (sending messages, voice calls, GPS, etc.) other models are rather aimed at athletes who want to measure their performance. In this case, they offer podometer functions, cardiofrequency meter and display the number of calories burned during the exercise. For swimmers, they are imperative to choose a waterproof watch (minimum 5 ATM).
The autonomy of the connected watch depends on its use and its complexity. The more the applications will be, the shorter the autonomy. This is also influenced by display technology (LCD, AMOLED or electronic ink) and brightness. Design is obviously a matter of tastes. There are square, round, rectangular connected watches with needles or not. The needle models offer fewer functions but gain autonomy.
The bracelet is also important. Some models offer a standard bracelet (18/20/22 mm) that it is possible to change, others have their own format.
