Initially, there were these two courtyard garages located above Place de Clichy in Paris. Owned by a couple, he is a photographer and she, a food stylist, these raw lots were used to park a car and store a number of things. With a view to transforming them into quality accommodation, for long-term rental purposes, their specifications were composed as follows: a comfortable kitchen, a bedroom separated from the living room, a bathroom with WC as well as a space laundry room.
Light, do you want some, here it is!
Separated by a non-load-bearing partition, so much the better, the two garages nevertheless contained an unforeseen problem. An interior slope which forced the architects to break and dig the slab to better level it. Once this problem was resolved, the project went off without a hitch with a good dose of insulation to make the place pleasant to live in and a plan which puts the large living space on the light side and the sleeping area at the back. In total, 31 m² of quiet and good living space have been created, it’s worth the detour!
