Our clothes whisper us with clues that sometimes should be listened to. Indeed, on a room, every detail has its reason for being, its usefulness: a strangely placed shoulder, a hidden pocket, an incongruous seam, an hem … So, if fashion has been no longer arbitrary, some clothing prerequisites remain to know to control the art of appearing. The latter are directly linked to the construction of the garment: they perfect or ruin the fall and the cut of the latter, depending on whether you apply them or not. On coats and jackets, there is therefore a small gesture that we all forget to make. Not by voluntary negligence, but because we do not know that it is necessary. When you buy them, jackets, blazers and coats often dress in a slit sewn in the lower back. This cross -shaped seam, called “holding cross” or “cross” in jargon, is intended to be cut when wearing said garment … except that some do not do so. However, once the coat is put on, the sewing held creates a sort of unsightly yawning when the body begins to move: it swells it, spoils the silhouette of the latter.
But then, one might wonder what is the use of this cross seam if it has no aesthetic and decorative utility strictly speaking?
