Books and reading in the nests can have a positive impact on the development of small children, especially in the most fragile contexts. After three years of experimentation of #ioleggoperconeélab-nidi- The project of the Italian Editori Association (AIE) in close collaboration with Fondazione Cariplo – The results of this third edition will be at the center of the scheduled meeting Tuesday 1 April in the Wagner room of Bologna Children’s Book Fairin an event scheduled for 14.30 to 16.00 entitled “#ioleggoperciélab-nidi: the value of reading in the very young”.
Born as a pilot project to bring children closer to 0 to 3 years and enhance school libraries in the nests of the most disadvantaged areas#ioleggopercerélab-nidi today involves 350 nests of Lombardy and Eastern Piedmont (Novara and Verbano-Cusio-Ossola), a territorial area of work of the Foundation. A patrol of experimental nests but on which the work has been started in a systematic way, measured in the pre and post intervention phase by the AIE Study Office. The data allow you to trace an increasingly clear picture on the effects of this initiative, suggesting that introduce books and reading in the first years of life can represent an important opportunity to accompany the development of children and their parents, in particular in social contexts with less resources and opportunities.
The meeting, divided into two distinct moments, will be an opportunity to present not only the new analysis on the data collected, which show the progress made, but will also constitute a moment of comparison On the importance of reading in the very young, With the involvement of experts and those who participated in the project: a concrete training occasion, therefore, specifically open to all nests of Italy, which will be able to participate in presence or online (The event will be live on the website and on the Facebook page of #ioleggoperce as) and which will see the extraordinary participation of the doctor and psychotherapist of the evolutionary age, professor at the University of Milan Alberto Pellai.
The program – The event, moderated by the journalist Valentina de Poli, He will open with the greetings of the president of Aie Innocenzo Cipolletta and will see the interventions of Renata Gorgano (Vice -President AIE), Claudia Sorlini (Vice -President of the Cariplo Foundation) and Elena Pasoli (Bologna Children’s Book Fair Director), together with the presentation of the data of the third edition of the investigation by Giovanni Peresson (AIE Study Office).
Alberto Pellai will be the protagonist of a round table together with Giovanna Malgaroli (born to read). With them the educator Patrizia Pillitteri (Nido Baranzate – Milan) and the volunteer of Nati to read Sara Betendo (Nido Cassano Magnago – Varese) who participated in the project and will share experiences and good practices experienced in the nests. Un dialogue guided that will highlight the importance of reading and the relationship with the pages of books in very early childhood, offering concrete ideas and good practices to educators and operators in the sector.
