At the editorial staff, we were offered to test the solidity of the Honor Magic7 Lite, designed to withstand the vagaries of everyday life. With a key and even a hammer, we lent ourselves to the game: here is our opinion and the result on the screen.

It is not every day that we are offered to try to break a smartphone. So, at the editorial staff, when we were submitted the idea, it could only attract our curiosity. Especially since we are provided in testing with … a small hammer! The smartphone in question is none other than the Honor Magic7 Lite, designed to resist everyday vagaries, whether shocks, falls (up to two meters), scratches or exhibitions to elements such as water splashes for example. “”More than just a smartphone, it is a real daily companion, capable of resisting clumsiness and unexpected without fail “, promises us the brand. Well, that’s what we wanted to check.

We start at first by testing the splashes by overthrowing a glass of water on a table, the phone laid next door. The smartphone does not seem damaged at all: no drop of water has been infiltrated and it works completely normally. Then go to the shock screen resistance. At arm’s length, in height and standing, we drop it to the ground and ditto: the Honor Magic7 Lite remains intact. A good point since in general, we rather drop our smartphone from our pocket, a table or our handbag …

What about a little more violent shocks? We take charge of the famous hammer and give several shots on the screen. Does the phone bear shocks? Yes, pretty good: we see a minimal trace appear on the screen, which ultimately disappears immediately. But it must be said that we did not go there with a dead hand. And then, on ten strokes brought to this poor screen, it remains whole, when it would have been broken into a thousand pieces with another lambda phone. A resistance that the brand owes to its Display anti-drug screen and its IP64 certification.

Finally, as for the hammer, we certainly went a little strong by testing the resistance of the smartphone to stripes. “”Even in a DIY workshop, an unexpected chisel stroke does not damage it, the screen remains intact “, said the press release. On our side, we used a key to scratch the screen. This time again, I have to admit it, I really pressed strong enough on the screen to scratch it (and I succeeded!). This manipulation still left traces on the screen protection filter, as can be seen in the photo or in the video. Concretely, we can say that this model responds well to everyday vagaries, because, generally, the stripes are not as intense during a friction between the smartphone and its keys in its handbag. Likewise, you don’t have fun every day using a hammer to hit the screen.

And that is not all: in addition to its resistance, we particularly appreciated the design of this phone (which exists in black and in titanium purple), its lightness (it weighs only 18 kg), but also the quality of its photos, detailed and bright. We also easily move from a classic portrait to a close -up without losing in quality: perfect for capturing important moments with the family. Another advantage: its battery can last up to three days without needing to recharge it: with only 2% battery, you can last another 50 minutes. Finally, the last detail, the price which remains affordable if we compare it to other models of smartphones, since it is on sale at a price of 380 euros.
