There is a change in vaccinations instructions from 2025, especially for those over 65, insufficiently vaccinated.

Doctors hammer it: vaccination accessible in France is a chance. She saves lives in the little ones but also the older ones. In the vaccine calendar updated in 2025, several new features concern seniors, insufficiently vaccinated according to Public Health France: the recall of the DTP vaccine (diphtheria-tetanos-poliomyelitis) is carried out in only 50% of 65 years, 44% of 75 years and 34% of 85 years. Flu vaccination reaches 54% in 65 and over 20% of people at high risk of pneumococcal infections are properly vaccinated. From 2025, vaccinations against pneumococcus and zona are recommended for all people aged 65 and over; and vaccination against the VRS (syncytial respiratory virus) is recommended for people aged 75 and over and those aged 65 to 74 with chronic respiratory and hearts. These new vaccinations are added to reminders of DTP vaccination, annual vaccination against flu and vaccination against COVID-19, which remain essential.

The news of the vaccine calendar in 2025

► Méningococci: compulsory in infants since January 1, 2025.

ACWY: 1 dose at 6 months + recall at 12 months. Catching up possible up to 2 years.

Adolescents/young adults (11–24 years old): recommended acwy vaccination. B proposed between 15 and 24 years old.

► Pneumococci: Vaccination extended to every 65 years and over with a single dose of Prevenar20.

► Poppy:

What are the mandatory vaccines? For the crèche? School?

Eleven vaccines have been compulsory in France since 2018, to be made in children between their birth and their 18 months. They are compulsory for entry or maintaining communities (crèches, school) for any child born after January 1, 2018. If vaccinations have not been made, the Ministry of Health warns that the child is “temporarily accepted”. Lacking compulsory vaccinations must be carried out within 3 months of admission.

When the child is admitted to a community for a period of more than 1 year, the justification of his vaccination is annual. The 11 obligations vaccines are those against Application, invasive infections in Haemophilus Influenzae type B, hepatitis B, pneumococcal infections, invasive meningococcal infections of serogroup C, measles, mumps, rubella, diphtheria, tetanus and poliomyelitis.
