The world of television has been in mourning since the announcement of the death of Catherine Laborde. The emblematic TF1 weather presenter pushed her last sigh, at home, in her house in Vendée. Who was by his side in his last moments?
This Tuesday, January 28, 2025, Catherine Laborde, the legendary TF1 weather presenter for 28 years, died at the age of 73. After having fought for a long time against Lewy’s body disease – a neurodegenerative disorder – it is surrounded by all her relatives that she made her last breath. The one who made the rain and the good weather, to her moving farewell in 2017, was able to count on her husband the author and philosopher Thomas Stern, her two daughters Gabrielle and Pia, and the father of the latter, Jimmy.
His two sisters were also by his side.
“It’s a habit of the Laborde sisters …” : the last hours of Catherine Laborde
It is also his younger sister Françoise Laborde, also well known to the French, who announced the sad news by a press release transmitted to AFP. In the process, she agreed to return to the last moments lived with her sister, in her house on the island of Yeu, in Vendée, with the newspaper THE Parisian. “I went to see her with my older sister, Geneviève. The three of us were very linked”she said.
And the former IT presenter and ex-member of the CSA to add: “On a dit des bêtises, on a rigolé. C’est une habitude des sœurs Laborde que de ricaner bêtement dans les moments un peu tristes. On lui a fait écouter de la musique, on lui a parlé de notre enfance, de papa, of mom.. The latest moments of Catherine Laborde, which “was no longer too“were despite everything”happy“.
Who is Geneviève Laborde, the eldest secret of the clan?
The Laborde sisters are indeed three, Geneviève having preferred to leave the media light to her two little sisters: almost three decades in the weather of TF1 for Catherine Laborde – which however began with another career – while Françoise Laborde worked as Journalist for several media in the late 1970s.
And Geneviève Laborde in all of this? Discreet but not absent in the clan, this 75 -year -old woman lives in the Gers, stronghold of Laborde, and has long been responsible for a wine house, a common passion for the family.
Today retired, Geneviève Laborde gives her village all her time. First deputy mayor responsible for social relations, she has been a municipal councilor of her town for more than ten years, elected each time with a large majority of votes. Among the Laborde, we definitely know how to federate!
