Lorie, 28, was ready to take the plunge. She had chosen her wedding dress, paid deposits to providers and sent all the announcements. But the young woman was relieved when going back.
Lorie and Marc have known each other for many years, but they had never planned to couple. Friends in common put the chip in their ear and they are gone in lots of projects. After a year of relationship, they decide to formalize their relationship by jumping in front of the Mayor. Everything is linked then: Lorie multiplies the appointments to find the wedding dress of her dreams and the couple quickly embarks on the preparations for the wedding. Caterer, reception room, photographer, announcement, orchestra … All providers are booked and certain deposits already paid. But one month from D -Day, Lorie doubts and cancels everything, at the last moment.
“It was a difficult decision to make, because I told myself that we had already paid a fortune for the organization of the marriage, that some people had reserved train or plane tickets to be present on D -Day … but my mother helped me a lot by guilty“Confides the young woman.”It is thanks to her that I was able to make my choice serenely“, She continues. Indeed, the latter reassured her about the cancellation of the marriage.”She told me not to worry about what people say, nor the spent amount, that she preferred that we lose money rather than I spoil my life and that if I had the slightest doubt, it was still time to make back machine “.
Finally, by admitting to Marc that he was not the good, Lorie was never relieved so much. “”The day I told him that I didn’t want to get married anymore, I had a huge sigh, like one less weight that was eaten from the inside “. And for good reason: Marc was particularly kind and affectionate, pleasant and seducer, but he could, on some days, be all the opposite. “He hid his true face and when he got angry, he terrorized me. I was as happy as unhappy, and I often returned to cry because he was hitting in the wall to avoid carrying my hand on me”she testifies. Lorie also tells that he was particularly jealous, suspicious and possessive, somewhat manipulative, and that he prohibited her from seeing his friends or going out alone. “I said to myself that if I had married him, I could have become the battered woman cut off from the world. Not to mention the insults or the lack of respect he could have towards me”. What’s more: she was not the only one to have canceled her marriage at the last minute with him: two others of her ex also fled at the last minute!
Lorie believes that she made the best decision of her life, which has somehow changed her future. Years later, when she cut the bridges with her ex, she echoed what he became … friends brought her that he had married a woman and that he put her on the doorstep with her suitcases, throwing her plates on the face. He then got back as a couple and had children, separated again, and now argues guard in a very conflictual atmosphere. For her part, Lorie is more than blooming: she married the man of her life, with whom she had a child.
