On December 17, King Frederik X and Queen Mary of Denmark hosted a Christmas reception for employees of the Royal Household. We loved the queen consort’s sober and dazzling dress.
It was in the main hall of Christiansborg Castle, around the six meter high fir tree, that this great Christmas reception took place. Around 450 guests were invited by the royal family, made up of the former sovereign (Queen Margrethe), King Frederik X, his wife and three of their four children. Moreover, Mary of Denmark was resplendent in her outfit by Rebecca Vallance.
It was a short-sleeved midi dress, in a sophisticated navy blue. This “Xena” model was cinched at the waist with a matching belt, highlighting the queen’s silhouette. The detail that made all the difference? The collar adorned with sparkling rhinestones that transformed this simple outfit into the perfect party look. For this friendly moment with the employees of the Court and their families, Mary of Denmark left behind the royal trappings. No flashy accessories or statement jewelry: she preferred a sober and elegant ensemble.
Thus, the 53-year-old star skipped the handbag and wore simple black pumps, without embellishments. As for her jewelry, the Australian-born opted for a few silver bracelets and rings that finished off her look perfectly, without overdoing it.
