Will be the World Cup for the first time. It will have an expanded format to 48 teams with 12 groups of four teams each instead of the “usual” 32. It will be hosted in three different states, Mexico, the United States and Canada. It will last more than a month, from June 11th to July 19th. AND We still don’t know if Italy will be there by Rino Gattuso. For this we will have to wait for the matches on 26 March 2026 with Northern Ireland and, if all goes well, on 31 March with the winner of Wales-Bosnia Herzegovina.
But in the meantime, we already know which group we will end up in. We will access it – with due diligence – as members of the last bracket, reserved for the teams that emerge from the playoffs and from Jordan, Cape Verde, Curaçao, Ghana, Haiti and New Zealand. This explains why the draw couldn’t be very easy for us.
The top seeds in our group are the hosts Canada, while Switzerland represents the second tier and Qatar the third.
Could it have been worse? Of course, but now we have to deserve this luck.
