Small insects visible to the naked eye invest our houses as soon as the weather returns and are irreparably attracted by the textiles and the organic matter that our interiors contain. This is why it is important to act as quickly as possible in order to limit the damage and we tell you how.
In addition to mites, other small insects can tackle your clothes, carpets and furniture, but also cause allergic reactions in the most sensitive subjects. Indeed, there is a formidable enemy that appears in summer because it goes in search of pollen from spring to feed and birds of birds to lay its eggs there. This beetle belongs to the dermestidae family, it measures 1.5 to 3.5 mm when reaching its adult size and it can be recognized by its striated oval shape of strips of black and white colors.
Its larvae are elongated and beige/brown in color. Similar to small grains of sand, the latter are nonetheless responsible for many damage in the house because their small size allows them to be housed in inaccessible corners such as the cracks of the floors or walls. We find anthrene mainly in carpets, carpets and various textiles (clothes, curtains …) because it finds an abundant source of organic matter.
But you should also know that this insect is fond of dead skins and it is frequent that they will elect home in the beds. Some signs may attest to their presence in the house such as holes in clothing or textiles, the presence of adult larvae or anthrenes near the windows. Good to know: carpet anthrene is a proliferation insect capable of laying up up to 200 eggs that hatch between 2 and 4 weeks after laying.
To hope to get rid of it, regularly vacuum on your carpets, carpets and all textiles likely to house anthrenes. Also inspect the outdoor areas and the surrounding flora to your accommodation regularly, making sure to eliminate the nests that can be infested, as well as spiders. If the evil is already done, do not hesitate to pass a steam cleaner on your textiles and install pheromone traps to reduce infestation. Calling on a professional may be necessary if the infestation is too large.
