The new year is approaching, and with it, the time to review your heritage strategy : should Livret A be forgotten? Should we fear a stock market crash? What strategies should you favor to optimize your taxes in 2026? To support you in these major decisions at the start of the year, we have collected video analyzes from three savings specialists, who share their projections and recommendations for next year.

In this last part, we met Corentin Hué, director of Finary One (the private banking offering of the Finary platform, launched in 2024). He gives us his expertise on investing in the stock market, via ETFs, and on the preferred envelopes for doing so. He also gives some advice to those who would like to take advantage of the new year to get started investing in cryptocurrencies.

Booklets to keep, even for high assets

To begin with, even if regulated passbooks suffer reductions in yield – and are the subject of new tax proposals – they retain, according to Corentin Hué, an essential role in an estate, whatever its size: “For us, Livret A will keep interest, for a simple reason: it is not an investment, but a cash investment. Its central advantage is that it can be mobilized at any time.”

The objective is therefore not to make your money grow in this medium, but to protect yourself against unforeseen events. Corentin Hué recommends placing on this envelope the equivalent of “six months of income”, and to reserve the rest of its capital for supports with a higher performance objective. This is the case, for example, of ETFs (Exchange Traded Funds), financial instruments which allow you to position yourself in a large basket of stocks at lower costs.

Beware of duplicate ETFs

However, this tool requires a certain vigilance, especially for beginner investors. “You have to be quite careful to avoid overweighting certain sectors or geographic areas and overlapping, that is to say using several ETFs that will buy the same thing.”recommends the expert. Concerning the tax envelope, the choice is clear: for young investors with a horizon of more than five years, the Stock Savings Plan (PEA) is the most relevant medium for purchasing ETFs, thanks to its tax advantage upon exit. The optimal strategy, according to the expert, is to use the PEA up to its ceiling of 150,000 euros, then switch to the ordinary securities account to continue investing.

For cryptos: define your limit and smooth your entry

For savers tempted by digital assets, Corentin Hué gives three fundamental tips for approaching this asset class known for its extreme volatility. First of all, define your risk. It is imperative to anticipate the potential loss. “The first tip for a beginner in crypto: determine an envelope that you are willing to risk and lose, because cryptos are much more volatile than financial markets.” Second, you need to secure your investments. The use of approved platforms is non-negotiable. The expert recommends using PSANs (Digital Asset Service Providers), regulated players in France.

Finally, smooth its entry point. It is impossible to buy at the best time. To minimize the risk linked to price variations, the expert advises adopting the programmed investment plan (Dollar Cost Averaging – DCA). “It’s a very hard asset to read, one of the best ways to invest is to make investment plans. Investing small amounts over a given period will smooth out your entry point.”
