– Non-monthly taxpayers have less than two months to pay their property tax to the tax authorities.
The summer holidays have barely ended and property owners are already caught up with their tax obligations. This Wednesday, August 28, the Directorate General of Public Finances (DGFIP) is making property tax notices available for non-monthly payers in their personal space on the online platform impots.gouv.fr. Those for monthly payers will be available from September 20. And this year again, despite the decline in inflation, the property tax rate is increasing everywhere by at least 3.9%.
But some cities have voted for additional increases in the property tax rate. Like Nice, where owners are facing a 19.2% increase in their property tax compared to the rate applied last year: taxpayers will thus be taxed at 35.3%. In Annecy, owners will be taxed at 34%, which amounts to an increase in the property tax rate of 14% compared to 2023. Enough to put taxpayers who do not pay monthly in difficulty if they have not anticipated the increase voted by their municipality.
Pay your property tax online, by transfer, check or cash
And this is especially true since they have less than two months to collect the amount to pay to the tax authorities. If you opt for online payment via your personal space on the impots.gouv.fr website, you have until midnight on October 20 to pay your property tax. Please note, if you prefer to pay your tax by check, transfer or cash: you will have to pay before October 15, 2024. Please note that these payment methods are only valid if the amount of your property tax is less than 300 euros.
