Laury Thilleman, moved to rediscover her passion “after all these years away”
Laury Thilleman saw her world collapse at the age of 10, when she had to stop horse riding because of her allergies to animals. But almost 25 years later, the 34-year-old native of Brest was able to ride horses again among the Gauchos, in Chile, during the filming of Meet in unknown land. “We went to train a black and white horse (…) I am so happy and grateful to reconnect with horses after all these years apart“, she confided in a logbook that TV Magazine was able to consult.
So that she could ride this horse without a hitch, the show’s doctor was on the lookout and her treatment was “boosted“.”Yesterday, the allergies caught up with me but today, my body seems to leave me alone to enjoy these precious moments with our horse breeders and riders“, she said, amazed by this return to basics.
Laury Thilleman experienced “one of the most traumatic ordeals” of her life: “An upheaval”
But if this trip was life-saving for Laury Thilleman, she still experienced complicated moments during the stay. With Cyril, she notably had to help a resident to brand cows and castrate a calf. But the former beauty queen couldn’t bring herself to do it. “Yesterday, I certainly experienced one of the most traumatic ordeals of my life.” declared the ex-wife of the cook Juan Arbelaez in her logbook.
“I couldn’t. I admire their way of respecting animals, lassoing them, but seeing an animal suffer is beyond my strength. I wonder if I am cut out for this job as it has taken a toll on me emotionally.“, said this nature lover, who ended up feeling “in his place” at the helm of the show, after taking a step back from the events. The journalist and ex-beauty queen was transformed by this journey: “It was an upheaval. I did the necessary sorting in my life“.
