A big fan of thrills, Etienne has tried more than fifty amusement parks in his life. But one of them without hesitation takes the prize for “craziest park” of all. Yet few of us know about it.
In France alone, there are around 650 leisure parks, which attract more than 70 million visitors each year! And all over the world, the craze for theme parks and amusement parks continues unabated: ever bigger, ever crazier, and yet ever more expensive, these spaces which promise unforgettable experiences and thrills continue to seduce the public over the years. And some take passion to the extreme. This is the case of Etienne Martinelli, creator of the EDBattraction YouTube channel, followed by more than 67,000 subscribers. An absolute fan of amusement parks, he visited some.around fifty in eight countries” different, and devotes a colossal budget of approximately “10 to 15,000 euros per year” !
Questioned by Faustine Bollaert in the show One day, one life on RTL, he revealed his most memorable memories in parks around the world. If the United States is renowned for having some of the most grandiose in the world, Europe has nothing to envy them. Disneyland Paris, Parc Astérix, PortAventura World, Europa-Park… The Old Continent also has some of the most famous and appreciated parks on the planet, the last having even been voted the best amusement park in the world ten times in the space of eleven years. However, none of these famous places appear at the top of the “crazier” according to Etienne Martinelli.
To everyone’s surprise, it was a European park little known to the French that won the title: according to the specialist, it was Energylandia. Located in Zator in southern Poland, just over an hour from Krakow, it is the largest park in the country. “It’s the craziest in terms of attractions, because they bought them in a frenzy without thinking too much about the layout of the park. It’s a bit unusual, it’s very weirdly themed but there are a lot of roller coasters.”explains Etienne Martinelli. Indeed, Energylandia has no fewer than 133 attractions, spread across seven distinct zones, which would even make it the park with the most coasters in the world. For comparison, the two Disneyland parks have around fifty attractions, just like Astérix Park. For its part, Europa-Park has around a hundred.
Furthermore, we find the highest watercoaster in the world at Energylandia, which peaks at 60 meters. The park also has the second tallest and fastest roller coaster in Europe, after the Red Force attraction located in Ferrari Land, within the PortAventura complex.
Price-wise, Energylandia seems to be a bargain compared to other European parks: the standard one-day ticket costs around 47 euros in low season, and around 52 euros in high season. The reduced rate ticket, for those “under 140 cm” or for seniors aged 65 and over, is sold between 37 and 42 euros depending on the time of year. Ideal for thrill-seekers, the park is also suitable for families thanks to its very varied offer of attractions.
