Afshona impresses those around her by naming all the flags of the countries of the world. She also knows the capitals of more than 50 countries.
This little girl, originally from Turkestan, is enough to create complexes among adults who often struggle to find the right “geography” answers to Trivial Pursuit. Because Afshona Abdikarimova has an exceptional memory: at the age of 4, she already knows no fewer than 195 world flags like the back of her hand. “I hung a world map at home. Watching it, my older sons started to be interested in it too. Of all the flags, she particularly prefers the blue flag of Kazakhstan. This only increases his love for this country“, tells his father Fayoz Abdikarimov to the media Kazinform.
Having been teaching for 12 years and teaching English at high school, this father is also quite gifted: he speaks 6 languages fluently (Kazakh, Tajik, Uzbek, English, Russian and Persian) and ensures that his children have a good education. “A child’s first educators are his parents. Education begins in the family” he declared.
What’s even more amazing is that the little girl started being interested in the different flags of the world at the age of three and memorized them all in just one week. Same thing for the 50 capitals that she was able to retain in 7 days without any difficulty. From now on, Afshona is interested in another discipline: chess, which she learns with her two other brothers.
When she grows up, she dreams of going to all the countries whose flags she knows and promoting Kazakhstan throughout the world. One thing is certain, with such a thirst for learning and such a stimulating family environment, little Afshona has a bright future ahead of her. Whether it’s her future chess games or her travel plans across the globe, this young prodigy certainly hasn’t finished surprising us.
