On the French side, it is the singer Monroe who will defend the colors of France with her title Look at!relatively well ranked by bookmakers. But a particularly strict new rule is causing a lot of talk among fans of the competition…
The 2026 edition of Eurovision takes place in a reinforced security context and the conditions of access to the room have therefore been modified accordingly. The organizers have in fact announced a measure directly linked to “tragic events in Crans-Montana“, mentioned in an official document sent to spectators before the shows. Remember that this festive gathering in Switzerland on the evening of December 31, 2025 resulted in the death of 41 people and several injuries, due to a fire caused by materials deemed too flammable.
Austrian authorities have requested a series of additional measures to avoid any incidents during Eurovision evening, broadcast live around the world. Thus, a very strict instruction has been put in place: personal flags will no longer be automatically authorized within the confines of the Vienna room. To be able to enter with a flag, it must comply with a specific Austrian security standard. Spectators, many of whom already have several favorite candidates, will have to present a valid certificate at the time of entry control.
Concretely, this means that fans who have purchased classic flags commercially risk being refused access with their accessories if they do not have the requested conformity document. The organizers therefore strongly recommend purchasing directly the official flags offered by the Eurovision store, which already meet the standards.
These flags can be collected on site after checking the tickets, on the day of the performance reserved by the spectator. Proof of purchase as well as the entry ticket must be presented to obtain the famous flag. Fans of the competition, accustomed to coming with their own banners to support their favorite country, will therefore have to adapt…
