In the cosmetics market, a small revolution is taking place thanks to this innovation which simplifies the routine.
A well-established beauty routine can take time. Between cleansing your face, using serum and moisturizing cream, you end up spending around ten minutes in the bathroom taking care of your skin. But a new product could well revolutionize our mornings. Already quite popular in the world of K-beauty (understand Korean beauty), some French brands have also released references for our greatest happiness.
A true innovation in the world of cosmetics, this new generation treatment combines the richness of a cream with the lightness of a mist. In just one spray, the skin is hydrated, nourished and protected for the day. Indeed, for some time now, mist creams have been booming. Korean brands like Aestura, Dr. Althea or Laneige have already adopted this format. In France too, makeup artist Violette Serrat has been offering her Boum-Boum Milk for several years, while Payot has developed an adaptogenic spray moisturizer.
The objective of these new generation galenics is simple: to save time, to be able to reapply during the day and to simplify routines that have sometimes become too complex. Social networks have largely contributed to this accumulation of steps, as has the success of “layering”, this technique of superimposing treatments on the skin.
It is from this observation that Jeanne Tie-Benichou, doctor of pharmacy, started to found her brand Cicéron Paris. The brand has two references: Aura and Nocte, a day mist and a night mist. These act as both cream and serum, and thus contain between six and seven active ingredients each. “My subject was precisely to put layering, in quotes, in the bottle rather than relying on the multiplication of cosmetics.“By layering too many products, there is a risk according to the professional: that of saturating the skin’s receptors to the point of limiting the effectiveness of certain active ingredients. Worse still, this accumulation multiplies preservatives and attacks our precious skin microbiota
Where the brand achieves a feat is also through its formula. Many references are mainly composed of water and poorly suited to the naturally oily barrier of our skin. Jeanne Tie-Benichou therefore opted for a composition richer in fatty substances to ensure optimal penetration of the product into the epidermis.
Faced with the limits of cosmetic minimalism in which she says she does not believe, the doctor of pharmacy chose a rich emulsion capable of penetrating this skin shield and full of care
