Anne-Claire Coudray has presented the TF1 news for over 10 years. But would the 49-year-old journalist be ready to turn the page and, above all, receive a lower salary?
For more than ten years, Anne-Claire Coudray has presented the TF1 news every weekend. But would the one who succeeded Claire Chazal in 2015 be ready to leave her place any time soon? The 49-year-old journalist spoke frankly to Eric Dussart in his show, at the RTL microphone.
Anne-Claire Coudray, ready to leave the news? “What worries me is…”
Without yet considering her departure from the news, Anne-Claire Coudray has already wondered about the future. What will happen when it’s time for her to bow out? “What worries me is that I’m going through it badly, that it’s humiliating.” she admitted bluntly to Eric Dussart. “When you are a presenter, you are there for your skills but also for your physique, for what you give off, for your personality. And when we no longer want you, we no longer want you in your entirety“, she then detailed.
However, the journalist is ready to “accept“this eventuality and has already been conditioned to it:”From the start, I said to myself: “You never thought of doing this”. So it must not become a suffering when it stops“. She also started her career in the TF1 “news” service as a field journalist, first in the Lille office, then more widely, notably covering the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008 or the presidential election in the United States the same year.
Anne-Claire Coudray, “ready to earn less”? “At the news, you have a huge salary…”
“I loved the pitch. I still love the field today and I try to do it from time to time. Going back to the field would suit me very well! In addition, I think I would return there much better than before having presented the newspaper“, she assured, specifying that her role as editor-in-chief of the JT had allowed her to acquire a real “journalistic maturity“. And to the one who lives in the Parisian suburbs to add: “It would not be absolute mourning“.
“But hey, who’s going to hire me?”however, she wondered. “When you come out of a position like that, I don’t think you’re hireable for all journalism jobs. You have a huge salary“, she joked, specifying: “I’m really ready to earn less“. If you do not know the exact amount of your salary, TV Magazine declared that the journalist perceived “between 30,000 to 45,000 euros” per month.
Whatever happens, the mother of Amalya, 10 years old, can count on the support of her daughter’s father and partner, the entrepreneur Nicolas Vix, who very admires her career, although they do not wish to get married. “We call him Monsieur Michu (…) During the newspaper, he sends me comments. So when the newspaper comes out, we already know what will work or not. It’s super precious“, she said.
