Black sandals, long considered a summer essential, are seeing their popularity decline this season. Another shade, more luminous and refined, is gradually becoming the new choice for French women.

For a long time, it has been the indisputable pillar of our summer wardrobes. Practical and versatile, the black sandal reigned supreme as soon as the warm weather arrived. However, a breath of fresh air is blowing through fashion this season! The little dark pair is giving way to a much more refined alternative, capable of enhancing the complexion and bringing an instant touch of chic to any outfit.

On sunny terraces, in the streets of big cities and by the sea, a new detail catches the eye of fashion enthusiasts. Summer silhouettes gain softness and sophistication, carried by a shade that instantly brings more light to outfits. More subtle than black, but just as easy to wear, it appeals to fans of the minimalist style as much as those who favor natural elegance. Designers have largely put it in the spotlight during the latest spring-summer collections, while influencers adopt it with flowing dresses, linen sets and even white pants. Its main asset? It enhances natural materials and warms the complexion without ever stealing the spotlight from the rest of the outfit.

Because while black remains a safe bet, it can sometimes harden a summer silhouette or create a marked contrast with the light colors that dominate the season. Conversely, this shade is part of a warmer palette, capable of bringing a refined touch without effort. The color that is unanimously accepted today is none other than camel, sometimes available in a cognac version, slightly deeper.

Inspired by high-end leathers and timeless leather goods accessories, it has established itself as the new benchmark for summer sandals. Its success is due to its remarkable versatility. Camel sandals go just as well with raw jeans as with a white dress, a beige linen suit, a crochet skirt or even a khaki jumpsuit. They create visual continuity with the skin and discreetly lengthen the silhouette. Another advantage: this shade crosses trends without losing its appeal. Unlike very strong colors which can quickly go out of fashion, camel retains a timeless look and fits easily into a wardrobe. A pair of sandals in this shade goes just as well with a day at the office as with a dinner on the terrace or a summer getaway.

From minimalist pieces with thin straps to more artisanal braided models, camel is undoubtedly establishing itself as the new essential for sunny days. A smooth transition that your feet and your outfits will not regret.
