It’s the first giga dive coaster in the world, and it already promises unforgettable sensations. This new attraction, which will open in 2026, has already broken six world records before it even comes into service.

“Always further, always higher, always stronger”. This phrase is not only the famous slogan of Fort Boyard, it also seems to be the tireless motto of amusement parks. It’s a true madness of grandeur: in the thrill market, everyone seeks to reach the pinnacle of adrenaline in order to compete with the competition. Roller coasters are becoming more and more extreme, with the highest, steepest or fastest drops, the largest loops or the tightest turns… to the delight of thrill-seekers.

And in this register, a new attraction has established itself as one of the most intense in the world. It is the first “giga dive coaster” on the planet: with 94 meters high and a slope inclined at 95 degrees, i.e. beyond the vertical, it has already broken six world records even before its opening, scheduled for 2026.

Called Tormenta Rampaging Run, this attraction is the spectacular new promise of Six Flags Over Texas. It will be inaugurated for the 65th anniversary of the park, located in Arlington in the United States, in the Rancho de la Tormenta district, completely renovated for the occasion. With a total length of 1280 meters and a highest point of more than 94 meters, this sensational roller coaster is the highest, steepest, longest and fastest of the “dive coasters”, this category of roller coasters called “plongeantes” in French, which have a slope of 90 degrees or more. The most impressive? Its main fall is 86 meters high, at an angle of 95 degrees and a speed of 140 km/h. Unheard of in its category, as well as its vertical loop of 54 meters, and its Immelmann inversion (a sort of half-looping) of 66 meters, the highest of all dive coasters in the world.

If Tormenta Rampaging Run actually breaks six world records in its category, it should however be remembered that, in absolute terms, certain rollercoasters have already done better. The Wrath of Rakshasa attraction, opening in May 2025 at Six Flags Great America in Illinois, holds the record for the steepest drop at 96 degrees. On the other hand, it is lower and slower than that of the new Texan rollercoaster. It is in reality the Falcon’s Flight, opening in December 2025 at the Six Flags Qiddiya City park, in Saudi Arabia, which breaks all the codes: it is at the same time the highest (195 meters), the fastest (250 km/h) and the longest (4,325 m) in the world. It is clear that Six Flags sets the bar very high – literally – when it comes to offering the most extreme sensations to its visitors.
