Located in the heart of the Auvergne volcanoes, the Vulcania amusement park offers the opportunity to discover volcanoes and other phenomena on Earth.

Summary

Open for more than 20 years, the Vulcania amusement park located in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes is one of the Top 10 parks in France with nearly 400,000 visitors per year. It is accessible to all ages.

What is Vulcania?

Vulcania is an amusement park located in the volcanoes of the Chaîne des Puys, opened to the public in 2002. It belongs to the Auvergne‐Rhône‐Alpes region. Its architecture is unique because it is dug into the volcanic rock resulting from the eruptions of the Auvergne volcanoes. Vulcania offers a fun and enriching immersion in the world of volcanoes, natural phenomena and the Earth in Space. It has the largest planetarium in France under an immersive dome 22 meters in diameter (inaugurated in 2023), dynamic entertainment including a family roller coaster, films on giant screens (CinéMax, the largest screen in Europe, and the Astrodôme), activities and shows hosted by scientists and shows.

What attractions in Vulcania?

Young and old experience strong emotions in Vulcania! The attractions allow you to learn and understand while having a pleasant time. In the attraction Sacred volcanoesyou board a vehicle which traces the history of people facing volcanoes. The sensations are there thanks to the dynamic attractions Awakening of the giants of Auvergne, Dragon ride, or even Namazuan intense adventure in the heart of a seismic fault aboard an all-terrain vehicle (from 1.20m).
