The additional admission phase begins on June 11 on Parcoursup, in parallel with the main phase. Here are the important dates to know for all high school students and our advice for navigating higher education with complete peace of mind.
There Parcoursup procedure follows a precise schedule which it is essential to master to avoid any unnecessary anxiety! This Thursday, June 11, is a sign the start of the complementary admission phasewhich opens in parallel with the main phase. An overlap which can disturb candidates, or reassure those who have not yet received anything. We detail everything for you the steps to knowand how to approach them calmly.
The rest of the Parcoursup 2026 calendar is made up of several stages:
- Thursday June 11, 2026: start of the complementary phase. High school students who have not yet received an admission offer can make up to ten additional wishes. The choice depends on the courses in which places remain.
- Tuesday July 7, 2026 : start of administrative registrations for students who have definitively accepted an admission offer. Registration details depend on the chosen establishment, and are indicated in the candidate’s file.
- Saturday July 11, 2026 : end of the main phase. This is the last day to receive an admission offer. After this date, it’s time for registrations for candidates who have received training, and following the complementary phase for those who have not yet found one.
- Tuesday September 8, 2026 : last day to express your wishes in the complementary phase. There will then only be two days left for training to make an admission proposal.
- Thursday September 10, 2026 : end of the complementary phase, which signs on the very last day to receive an admission proposal. This is also the end of the Parcoursup 2026 procedure. Support for candidates by the CAES (commission for access to higher education) continues until mid-October, but outside the platform.
The complementary phase is aimed at all those who have not yet definitively validated an admission offer : either because they have not received any, or because they are on the waiting list, or because they said “yes” while keeping their other wishes in the hope of having a more interesting proposal. Candidates who have not yet registered, or who had not confirmed their wishes before 1er April can also participate. And if a candidate has not received any offer of admission by July 11, 2026, the date which marks the end of the main phase, they then automatically move on to the complementary phase.
Until September 10, 2026, he can make up to 10 new wishes during the complementary phase, in particular by consulting a training search engine on Parcoursup which still has places available. Once the training courses have been selected, you must once again wait for the response from the establishments, then validate or not the wish definitively. You cannot formulate exactly the same wishes in both phases, but formulate a wish for the same training in another establishment For example.
What do admission offers look like?
Please note that you may receive one or more offers of admission, at the same time or on different dates, but that you will only be able to accept one at a time. Here are the 4 types of training responses:
- A “Yes” corresponds to an admission offer. You will then just have to validate or not this choice while waiting a few hours, because at the very beginning of the admission phase, the Parcoursup platform will be in “consultation” mode only.
- A “Yes-if” corresponds to an admission proposal accompanied, if you accept it, by a support device to strengthen your skills.
- A “waitlisted” means you are on the waiting list. This changes depending on the places that become available. If you are in this case, check your place in the waiting list: if you are at the top of this list, you should receive an offer of admission a few days later after other candidates have withdrawn. If you are in the middle or even the bottom of this waitlist, consider accepting an offer of admission based on another wish, if you have one.
- A “No” means that the committee for examining the wishes of the formation did not retain your file. You must then wait for the additional phase of Parcoursup.
Please remember: you generally have a few days to definitively validate your admission in the event of a positive response. Deadlines are displayed in your file, opposite the admission proposal. You must absolutely respond to all proposals, even if you wish to refuse them. Until August 17, you have two days to respond to the wishes of the complementary phase. But from this date, the deadline is reduced to just one day For “allow more candidates to obtain answers before the start of the school year”.
What are the possible responses to admission offers on Parcoursup?
When responding to admission offers on the platform, the student has three possible choices.
- “I accept this proposal and I choose the wishes that I maintain” : you can accept training without making a final choice, and keep other wishes on hold. Concretely, you secure a place, while maintaining the possibility of being accepted into another course that you might like more.
- “I definitely accept this proposal and I renounce all my other wishes” : the training you most want to join has accepted you, and you can therefore definitively validate your place. This is the ideal scenario, but note that this implies refusing all your other proposals.
- “I refuse this proposal” : the training ultimately does not interest you, and you prefer to refuse it. This in no way impacts your other proposals or your wishes still pending.
Attention, you will not be able to say “yes” in the main phase, and “yes” in the complementary phase. If you have already accepted an offer, while keeping your wishes pending during the first stage, and you receive another admission offer during the second stage, you will have to choose between the two.
