Michael Olise shines within the French team during this World Cup. But what do we know about the private life of the rising football star?

If there is one player who has been hitting the screen since the start of the 2026 World Cup, it’s Michael Olise! The Blues attacking midfielder, already the author of several assists and omnipresent in France’s matches, has become one of Didier Deschamps’ main assets. But if his talent is now known to the whole world, the 24-year-old player remains very discreet about his private life. However, his family history is special…

Michael Olise, from 4 cultures: what do we know about his family?

This native of London, in the Hammersmith district, has been immersed in four different cultures. His father is Nigerian and his mother is Franco-Algerian, which gave him the possibility of representing four selections at the World Cup: that of England, Nigeria, Algeria or France. Finally, it was towards the Blues that he turned… to our greatest pleasure!

A choice that he explains, in part, by the very strong ties he has with his mother. “I have always had a special bond with the France team, that’s why I play for them. It’s been my dream since I was little“, he said in a video posted on the Blues’ YouTube account. The player also revealed that, at home, his father spoke to him in English while his mother spoke to him in French, which allowed him to grow up in a bilingual environment.

The sportsman, who regularly surprises the media with his always sharp looks, has also passed on his passion for football to his little brother, Richard Olise, who is also a footballer. Aged 21, the latter plays for the Chelsea FC club. “We never talk about football, to be honest. We’re both so into it. We talk about life“, Michael Olise told the media HighSnobiety.

Is Michael Olise in a relationship?

Apart from his brother, the family of the footballer who is passionate about chess, however, remains extremely discreet. His parents rarely appear in public, but they made an exception last May during the UNFP trophy ceremony in Paris, where their son was crowned best Frenchman playing abroad.

Moreover, during this evening, a young blonde woman was seen at his side, which fueled rumors of a romantic relationship. Several Internet users quickly introduced her as his girlfriend. But this rumor was later denied: it was in reality Rebecca James, director of Limitless Sports Consultancy, a public relations agency, which therefore manages the image of the athlete with the scar. Very little active on social networks, the player nicknamed “Monsieur nonchalant” within the French team never talks about his love life.
