It has been unanimous for many years. Proof of this is; it has won over cultural subgroups which nevertheless display diametrically opposed styles. Her latest appearance at Cannes today confirms her fashion credibility.

The sunny days mark the return to the top of this accessory which reigned on everyone’s heads around twenty years ago. Although young and old wore it in rather casual looks, it is now seen on the most exclusive red carpets on the celebrity planet. So, on May 18, for the promotion of his film MadderAdèle Exarchopoulos strolled with this accessory on the prestigious Croisette. Twice, in two different colors – sometimes red, sometimes black – the actress appeared with a bandana on her head, making her the object of desire for summer 2026.

A year earlier, it was the iconic bandana print – or Paisley print, to be more exact – which shook the modosphere (Valérie Lemercier first) and covered all clothing items (from shirts to bags). This time, it returns to the forefront of the fashion scene in its original form, and on the head as during our youth, please!

Over the decades, the bandana has won over many cultural groups, such as rock fans in the 80’s, who wore it around their neck or wrist like the Guns N’ Rosesor even Hip Hop fans in the 2000s, who slipped it into the pocket of their jeans or wrapped it around their head like a headband. For this ultimate resurgence, it is on the heads of stylish girls that he invites himself. Adèle Exarchopoulos also chose to wear it like in the 2000’s.

At the photocall in Cannes, the 32-year-old actress wore it tied in a triangle on her loose hair. Totally in the aesthetic of the said era, she combines it with sunglasses with rimless oval lenses, typical of the decade. But she breaks the first degree by associating it with a more formal silhouette, chic as can be, composed of a black jacket and pants suit set, high-set pointed-toe pumps, and two diamond necklaces worn in stylish stacking. For her other look which puts the bandana in majesty, here again, the 2000’s take precedence: François Civil’s partner combines her bright red bandana with an oversized blazer, a choker necklace and always those same signature sunglasses from the 2000s.

If we thought it was reserved for phlegmatic looks, such as beach dresses combined with summer sandals or casual jogging pants combined with sneakers on your feet, Adèle Exarchopoulos proves to us that you can wear the bandana with everything, everywhere, according to your tastes. Whether on the beach, the asphalt, or even on the red carpet: it’s up to you.
