No longer so much up to date and even less to that of its new owners, this bedroom was going to change a lot. More colorful and better thought out, it’s full of ideas!
Nestled on the top floor of an 1890 building in the 18th arrondissement, this 30 m² space appealed to Alexandra and Chris. This American couple was looking for the ideal Parisian pied-à-terre. As Lorelei Peyrichou, former project manager at Little Worker, points out, the challenge was not technical but aesthetic: it was necessary to reflect the owners’ desire to dare here what they might not have attempted in their main residence.
Although the overall layout of the apartment and the kitchen have remained intact, the metamorphosis is nevertheless radical. Little Worker took advantage of the renovation to optimize energy performance, particularly in the bathrooms. Visually, the volumes have gained in clarity and readability without ever partitioning the space. The secret? Strategic solid colors, inspired by Pinterest selections, which create assertive and harmonious atmospheres, without a false note.
On the bedroom side, the space seemed frozen in the 2010s. Deemed too pronounced, this solid turquoise blue which marked the headboard did not at all correspond to the expectations of the new owners. Also, despite its closet with sliding doors from another era, the bedroom only needed a good bit of freshening up to reveal its full potential!
Enhanced by a peachy pink, right on trend, the original alcove located at the end of the bed is finally revealed. It now harmonizes perfectly with its new decor. In order to maximize storage in this 11.24 m² sleeping room, the old sliding doors have given way to three textured hinged doors. Made to measure in MDF to be painted, these new facades match perfectly with the cozy spirit of this sleeping area. Inside the dressing room, the layout has also been very well thought out, between rods and shelves, so that everything (re)finds its place.
In 2 months of work and with a budget of 32,000 euros including tax, this small area was transformed. It is much more current, without forgetting its past charm.
