It’s already ten years since Amélie Etasse played the character of Camille in the series Household Sceness, on M6. But before landing this role, the native of the 20th arrondissement of Paris took on many different jobs and searched for her path for a long time…
Amélie Etasse took on a number of small jobs: “I didn’t earn thousands”
From the age of 21 to 25, the actress began to earn her living through roles in plays. “I wasn’t making thousands but I was working regularly with a great troupe, so I wasn’t planning to stop at that point because I was having a blast“, she confided to Media Stack. At the same time, to supplement her income, the actress also worked as a waitress and saleswoman. Then, Amélie Etasse began to land small roles, notably in advertisements and series.
For example, we saw her in an episode of Day when everything changed or in the driver of Ten percent. But this period was “a little more difficult” to live for the actress who, certainly, began to earn her living and was able to stop doing small jobs, but hardly felt fulfilled on the film sets: “I couldn’t find a role where I had enough fun… I had small roles left and right but I said to myself: ‘I’m a little bored, if it’s eating cakes and waiting 4 hours before doing a sequence, it’s not going to do it.'”

So, here again, the jack-of-all-trades actress has embarked on all sorts of other projects in parallel. “I created a podcast, I wanted to write, and then I trained to become a baker“, she assured before explaining: “I also like being in the shadows and I get up early, so I said to myself: why not? But I didn’t want to be at the checkout, I really wanted to make the bread“. And that’s not all! The mother of Vasco, 6 years old, born from her former love with Clément Séjourné, also almost launched into a completely different profession: “I did massage training“. And joke: “I wanted to knead things, I think.“
Regardless, the now 42-year-old actress does not regret this period of uncertainty, which allowed her to experience many experiences. It was also thanks to an advertisement filmed for supermarkets that she got noticed for the production of Household scenes. “I was a stupid blonde who had lots of adventures“, she explained. The team of the series was looking for an actress capable of handling humor and seriousness and therefore gave her a chance in a casting… which she succeeded brilliantly!
