it can promote the presence of pollen in the house

Many French people are practicing good reflexes for healthy air in their homes. However, frequent forgetting can encourage the accumulation of particles without us realizing it.

Pollination is currently in full swing and it is time to take the right steps to limit the presence of particles in the house. Among other tips, it is recommended to air out your home for 15 minutes between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m., leave your shoes in the hallway, dry your laundry out of pollen peaks or wash your hair back. However, there is one small detail that most people forget that can be enough to ruin all those efforts.

The best solution for having healthy, low-pollen air is to ventilate your interior early in the morning or late in the evening for a quarter of an hour. But despite this action, a significant quantity of pollen can continue to infiltrate your home from a place that you almost never think about.

In fact, pollen particles create resistance when passing through the ventilation of windows, more precisely when they are dirty. Ventilation loaded with dust easily traps pollen and the problem is that once accumulated in your windows, the particles can continuously diffuse throughout your home for hours. Result: even if you ventilate at the right time, you continue to breathe allergens without realizing it. To remedy this effectively, you simply need to carefully clean these gaps.

Use a screwdriver to remove the ventilation grille. Most grilles are located at the top of windows, so do not hesitate to use a stepladder to reach them safely. Then remove the largest dust using a vacuum cleaner or using a brush to loosen it and clean the air passage with a damp cloth. Finally, put the grid back in place and that’s it.

To optimize the filtering of your vents, you can take advantage of cleaning to slip in a cut piece of hood or vacuum cleaner air filter to create a barrier to pollen. To improve the quality of the air in your home, do not hesitate to clean the ventilations twice a year, once before spring and once before winter. Also remember to replace the filters at this time and take the opportunity to clean those in your VMC. A simple gesture that can make a real difference at the height of pollen season.
