Almost a year to the day after the death of Catherine Laborde, her husband Thomas Stern published a book much criticized by members of the family of the late TF1 weather presenter…

One year ago, on January 28, 2025, the popular presenter Catherine Laborde died in her home on L’Île D’Yeu (in Vendée) after years of fighting a rare and complex neurodegenerative disease: Lewy body dementia. To pay tribute to her, and to highlight her daily life as a caregiver, Thomas Stern, the man she married in 2013, recently decided to publish a testimonial book entitled Is there life after your death? Which greatly displeases the clan of the former TF1 star.

The daughters of Catherine Laborde revolted against Thomas Stern: “It’s in terrible bad taste.”

The publication of this book, released on January 22 (published by Robert Laffont), does not go down well with Catherine Laborde’s family at all! For several days, the clan of the late weather presenter has been revolting in the media. Starting with his daughters, Gabrièle and Pia, and his sister, the journalist Françoise Laborde. They hardly appreciate this story presented by Thomas Stern as a “posthumous love letter“, he explained to the newspaper The Parisian.

“A year after my mother’s death, it’s hard, in terrible bad taste. We never thought he would publish a book about her without warning us”regretted Gabrièle, the eldest daughter of the weather presenter, to the daily.

Before being joined by his aunt, Françoise Laborde: “We are all stunned that he is using Catherine’s death to further highlight himself…” A family that is today shattered and flaunted in the media.

Françoise Laborde to the rescue of her nieces: “They are the ones who organized the whole setup…”

In the live TikTok by David Barbet, one of the flagship hosts of the Belgian channel RTBF, the sister of the deceased even let the horses go. “There had been some difficulties with Thomas Stern before the death of my sister Catherine. We didn’t want to talk about it at the time so as not to damage her memory and we chose not to say anything at the funeral because she was Catherine, a tender, luminous and modest being… And when we see that, a year after Catherine’s death, her partner continues to present himself as the daily hero, the perfect caregiver, the man who was there all the time, which is completely false…”

“It was her daughters, Gabrielle and Pia, who took turns at Catherine’s bedside”she then explained. And Françoise Laborde makes revelations about the end of Catherine’s life: “Gabrielle lived in the United States, she returned to France, three years before Catherine’s death. Pia is in Bordeaux. She went to L’Île D’Yeu quite regularly. And it was they who organized all the care arrangements around Catherine, including the caregiver Alexandra. Sorry to say it, but her husband was not there (…) And when he arrived from Paris a few hours before his death, Catherine was in a coma.”
