More than three decades apart. This is what separates Laurent Voulzy from his young partner, Isaure Le Faou. The singer accepts and justified this age difference on the set of “C à vous”.
He knows it, his age difference of 33 years with his partner is enough to shock or surprise. And enough to arouse comments and criticism. But Laurent Voulzy assumes. At 77, the singer has shared his life for seven years with his discreet lover, Isaure Le Faou, aged “only” 44.

The host Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine wanted to question him about this particularly significant age difference. Assuring not to be affected by the criticism, Laurent Voulzy justified himself: “No, because in fact, it’s almost a criticism that people make of me sometimes. They tell me that I have no sense of time. Sometimes it took me three years to make an album, to record it. I don’t see the time passing. It’s almost a fault.”
Maybe it won’t last
Despite everything, the singer of the hits Rockcollection And The grenadine heart is aware that he is much older than his partner. “So obviously, we have an age difference. I don’t see her… No, I still see her, of course. I’m not stupid. But at the same time, I don’t see it. It might not last, but I have a strange sense of time“, added the one who was also in a relationship for several years with the actress Véronique Jannot.
During the interview on the France 5 set, viewers were also able – a rare occurrence – to hear Laurent Voulzy’s new partner. She thus had the opportunity to return to the origin of their meeting. “I wrote him a letter because I wanted him to listen to my songs. I attended his concert when he sang with Alain Souchon. I cried throughout the concert. (…) So I wanted to make him listen to my songs. We met like this“, specified Isaure Le Faou.
An appointment had been made at Place des Vosges, in Paris. Since then, Laurent Voulzy – father of four children – and Isaure have had a beautiful love story. And this one showers the artist with praise: “Laurent, for me, is one of the greatest melodists, I almost want to say, in the world. He is of the caliber of people like Paul McCartney, people who have this notion of melody which, in France, marks us, because there aren’t that many in fact.“
