Material
Step 1: Hang the Leaves on the Ring
Using the cutting pliers, cut the metal ring so that you can insert the bay leaves. Then delicately pierce each of the leaves just below the stem or petiole. Gently slide them along the ring, one after the other. Start with the longest leaves at the bottom, just to create a nice point and go up on each side with smaller and smaller leaves to obtain a nice symmetry.
Step 2: Decorate the Wreath
Once all the leaves are hung, it’s time to start decorating! You can give free rein to your creativity and your desires. If you plan to use bay leaf in your dishes, choose decorations made from natural materials. Here, raw wooden beads and jute thread. But you can easily replace the latter with kitchen thread, for example.
Start by inserting three wooden beads of different diameters to the left and right of the leaves. If you prefer, you will also find cork beads in craft stores. Finalize the decoration by winding the wire, or tying knots, up to the top, around the ring. Close everything using a hook made with wire and two wooden beads. Finally, insert both ends of the ring into the larger bead to hold it closed and that’s it!
Step 3: Hang the wreath on your kitchen wall
Now that everything is ready, all you have to do is proudly display the crown you made. Place it in a place far enough from direct light and your cooking plates – so that the bay leaf does not suffer too much from the heat. If the leaves are intended for use in your kitchen, you can hang it near your sink or where you store other aromatics. Good preparations!
