Steps during a move: which organizations should be notified?
These public bodies must be notified of your change in situation as quickly as possible.
Tax center (individual tax service)
One of the first public bodies to notify when moving is the tax authorities. The change of address has direct consequences on the management of income tax and property tax. Declaring the new address also ensures the correct receipt of mail. How to do it?
- Online via your personal space on impots.gouv.fr in the section dedicated to profile and contact details.
- By mail at the public finance center on which you depend on January 1 of the tax year, indicating your old and new address, your tax number, your contact details.

Notify the health insurance fund (CPAM)
The change of residence must be communicated to the health insurance management organization in order to guarantee the continuity of rights and reimbursements health costs. A move, particularly when it is accompanied by a change of municipality, involves updating your electoral situation. Registration on the electoral lists is not not automatically transferred : the voter must make a new registration request from the town hall of their municipality of residence.
This approach can be carried out from the town hall concernedeither online via the national teleservice, or directly at the municipal counter. Legal deadlines must be respected, particularly in the pre-election period, in order not to lose your right to vote.

The change of address for traffic documents is carried out exclusively from ANTS (National Agency for Secure Titles). The change of address teleservice allows you to inform, in a single operation, a set of public and parapublic organizationswithin the limits of those affiliated to the system. In particular, it is possible to prevent the following services:
- your Social Security Fund;
- numerous pension funds (including Agirc-Arrco, Camieg, Cnav, Ircantec, etc.);
- energy suppliers;
- the Family Allowance Fund (CAF) or the MSA for recipients;
- from France Travail (formerly Pôle Emploi);
- tax services;
- of the registration service for your registered vehicle.
How to change your address at La Poste?
If you want La Poste to transfer your mail to your new address, you must notify them.
Forward your mail online
La Poste offers an online service dedicated to changing your address. After choosing redirection (permanent or temporary, in France or internationally), the user completes a form indicating the old and new addresses, and the duration. Go to a post office
