Guest of the “Midi Libre” TikTok channel, journalist and presenter Marie-Sophie Lacarrau spoke of her very strong attachment to Hérault (but not only).
At 50, Marie-Sophie Lacarrau is going through a good period in her professional life, working on the 1 p.m. news on TF1. Although she was forced to come and live in Paris for her career, this native of Villefranche-de-Rouergue (in Aveyron) has not forgotten her attachment to her region, Occitanie.
“I partied a lot”
On June 13, to readers of Free MiddayMarie-Sophie Lacarrau therefore spoke of the links she maintains with several corners of Occitanie. And particularly with Hérault. “Ah Hérault is Montpellier. Montpellier, where I lived, where I worked. So that was after my higher studies, while I was preparing for the entrance exams to journalism schools.“, she remembered.
And the TF1 journalist, who recently warned against certain very harmful possible effects of contact lenses, added: “I worked in bars, in creperies. I participated in the launch of the Gaumont Multiplex, the first in the region at the time. And I celebrated a lot!”
“This is where I built everything”
If Marie-Sophie Lacarrau therefore has a particular attachment to Hérault, this is also the case with Haute-Garonne. A department which is directly linked to his intimate life. “I don’t like to talk about my private life, but that’s where I built everything. This is where my children were born (she is the mother of two boys named Malo and Tim, born from her marriage to her discreet husband Pierre Bascoul, editor’s note). And that’s also where I started my professional career.“, she added.
Questioned by France Bleu in 2022, the journalist who succeeded Jean-Pierre Pernaut on the front page admitted to often missing her life far from the capital: “My heart is in the South. This South is missing, this South is missing. It’s the horizon that I miss… The green of the countryside and the blue of the sky. There you go, I still miss it and yet it’s been 5 years since we moved to Paris, but I miss this South yes. Besides, I’m going back there as soon as I can!“
