Before Gary Carvalho (@Unicogary) spoke, this bathroom seemed literally frozen in time. Dominated by ocher tiles with a very marked diamond pattern, typical of the 80s and 90s, the room suffered from an oppressive visual overload. From the floor to the walls, the omnipresence of these brownish tones and these lustrous textures created a dark and dated atmosphere, far from the standards of clarity and serenity sought today in a bathroom.
Beyond aesthetics, the space sorely lacked modernity and fluidity. Between the bathtub with classic lines topped by a narrow shower screen, the bulky bidet and the disparate accessories like the white plastic grab bar, the whole thing seemed poorly thought out and heterogeneous. This bathroom in its original form no longer met the comfort needs of its new owners: it had become imperative to demolish everything to make way for a daring project, finally combining contemporary aesthetics and optimal functionality with Lapeyre’s expertise.
After Gary’s passage, the transformation is striking. Where there once was a dark atmosphere, today absolute clarity and an optimized layout are legion. By reversing the location of the bathtub and toilet, circulation became more fluid and natural. The key element of this renovation is undoubtedly the use of beige travertine on the floor and walls, this natural stone provides an organic texture and immediate warmth, creating a soothing cocoon. An elegant wooden claustra with vertical lines lightly structures the space, separating the functions without ever obscuring the light.
Modern comfort invites itself into every corner thanks to a cutting-edge selection by Lapeyre. The vanity unit becomes the heart of the room with the Forméo furniture, whose clean lines are enhanced by backlit Arche mirrors. Enough to diffuse a soft light. To perfect this contemporary look, the matte black faucets provide a graphic contrast, while the outdated bidet has advantageously given way to an essential towel dryer.
Between noble materials and cutting-edge equipment, this bathroom has gone from the status of a relic to a sanctuary of well-being like few others see.
