The summer months represent a crossroads for the finances of Italian families. Between holiday planning and household budget deadlines, the arrival of the reimbursement linked to the Model 730 proves to be a precious breath of fresh air. This year the tax assistance machine moved at the usual differentiated pace, rewarding the most diligent taxpayers. Those who submitted their tax returns by the end of May are already seeing the fruits. For employees, the active balance is in fact processed directly in the July pay slip, allowing the sums to be collected during this month, depending on when the employer pays the salary.
The situation changes for the world of pensioners who interface with INPS. For accounting reasons related to the social security institution’s systems, the verification operations require an additional month compared to active workers. Consequently, even the fastest pensioners who completed the submission in May will have to wait for the August installment to see the sum credited to their payslip. This time lag is a consolidated element that families must consider when planning summer expenses, avoiding immediate reliance on sums that require the technical time required for crediting.
For those who sent 730 in June or in the first weeks of July, the wait is extended according to a monthly rolling calendar. Those who sent their data by June 20th will receive a refund in their August paycheck, while for those sent up to mid-July the balance will be postponed to September. This mechanism therefore recommends not cutting back at the last moment. The final deadline for submitting the tax return is set for the end of September, but those who take advantage of the last available days will only collect the tax credit in November, in the middle of the autumn season.
A separate discussion for those who present the model in the absence of a tax withholding agent, such as the unemployed or domestic workers. In these cases the refund is paid directly by the Revenue Agency by bank transfer to the current account, provided that the Iban has been registered on the institutional website. For this type of reimbursement the times are extended and payments are issued starting from the month of December. Finally, pay attention to regulatory blocks: the Agency carries out automated preventive checks on declarations with elements of anomaly or with credits exceeding 4,000 euros. This scrutiny can take up to six months, temporarily freezing your credit.
