You get the idea. You have the desire. But when faced with the question of financing, many women slow down – or give up. It’s a shame, because the ecosystem supporting business creation is much richer than you might think.

In 2026, business creation intentions will increase significantly among women: 24% say they want to create or take over a businessan increase of 3 points in one year. Among women under 60, this rate even reaches 32%. However, too few take action, often due to ignorance of the available systems. Here’s the complete guide that no one has given you yet.

ACRE: reduce its social charges from the start

This is the number one device to activate as a priority. Assistance for the Creation or Resumption of a Business (ACRE) consists of a temporary exemption from social contributions at the start of activity. The creator or buyer benefits from a reduced rate equal to 50% of the normal rate of social security contributions. This covers health insurance, maternity, basic pension, disability-death and family allowances.

What changes in 2026 – read carefully

The January 2026 reform modifies several important rules. Since 2026, the ACRE is no longer awarded automatically: the creator must submit a request to Urssaf within a maximum period of 60 days following the start of activity. If this deadline is exceeded, aid may be refused, even if all eligibility conditions are met.

Another point of vigilance: from July 1, 2026, the reduced rate will be increased from 50% to 75% of the usual social security contribution rates. The exemption will therefore be 25% instead of 50%. If you are considering starting your business, do it before July 2026 to benefit from the maximum exemption.

💡 Timing tip: It is advisable to start your micro-enterprise at the start of the calendar quarter (January, April, July or October) to benefit from the exemption for as long as possible.

ARCE: transforming its unemployment benefits into capital

If you are a job seeker and a beneficiary of ARE (unemployment benefit), you have access to a powerful and little-known financial lever. The ARCE allows you to receive a sum of money from France Travail corresponding to 60% of the remaining unemployment benefits, paid in two installments: at the time of creation of the activity, then six months later.

This capital can constitute your initial contribution and give real impetus to your launch. Good news: you can combine ACRE and ARCE – the first reduces your social charges while the other strengthens your start-up capital.

The Women’s Equality Guarantee: the 100% feminine system that no one knows about

It is the national system dedicated exclusively to women entrepreneurs, and it is largely underused. The Women’s Equality Guarantee, supported by France Active, covers up to 80% of the amount of the bank loan, with a guaranteed ceiling of €50,000, over a maximum period of 84 months (7 years). No personal guarantee is required for the covered party.

Concretely, it is a shield for your personal assets: the bank lends more easily because it takes less risk. You don’t have to mortgage your apartment to finance your dream.

Who can benefit from it? You must be a female manager with a majority in the capital or voting rights, have a business less than 3 years old, and present a viable project with a structured business plan.

How to request it? Contact the France Active association closest to you via franceactive.org – an advisor will help you through the process.

Honorary loans: up to €50,000 at zero interest, without guarantee

The honorary loan is a national system granted on a personal basis by networks such as Initiative France or Réseau Entreprendre. It does not require any personal guarantee and operates at zero interest. This loan constitutes a personal contribution which strengthens your financing file with banks, with repayment generally spread over 3 to 5 years.

The Wom’Energy program: designed for women

The Wom’Energy network (Réseau Entreprendre) offers loans of €15,000 to €50,000 at 0% rate, repayable over 3 to 5 years. As an added bonus, mentorship from an experienced business leader guides you. The only condition: having a business plan and a solid business creation project with real employment potential in the region.

Microcredit: when the bank says no

Adie supports project leaders who encounter difficulties accessing traditional bank credit. Its professional microcredit is aimed at profiles sometimes judged “ too risky » by the banks, even though the project is viable. Many women use this leverage to launch a service activity, a local business, a craft micro-enterprise or a digital project with limited investment. The amount can reach €12,000, accompanied by individual monitoring and management training.

Regional and local aid: the hidden treasure

Never neglect the local level. More than twenty regions have implemented Regional Action Plans (PAR) to support the creation and takeover of businesses by women, with direct subsidies, regional bonuses and collaborations with chambers of commerce.

For example, Île-de-France offers a bonus of €2,000 for women with dependent children, which can be combined with other schemes. In Nouvelle-Aquitaine, projects in priority neighborhoods or rural areas can obtain grants of up to €5,000. Each region has its own systems – check with your CCI or regional council.

The winning combo: how to combine them intelligently?

The real strategy of women who succeed in their launch is to don’t settle for just one help. An effective combination can combine:

  • a bank loan guaranteed at 80% by the Women’s Equality Guarantee,
  • an honorary loan via Wom’Energy or a local network to strengthen equity,
  • maintaining the ARE or ARCE to secure personal income,
  • and ACRE to limit the cost of social security contributions in the first year.

This type of arrangement improves the initial financial structure, reduces the need for a personal guarantee and offers a much more comfortable cash flow horizon to get through the first months.

Where to start?

No need to do everything alone. Here are your first three contacts:

  • The CCI of your territory for a free initial diagnosis and personalized guidance.
  • France Active for the Women’s Equality Guarantee and solidarity financing.
  • France Initiative or Entrepreneurship Network for honor loans and mentoring.

Money is not the obstacle you think. The doors exist. You just need to know how to knock on the right ones.
