Tuesday 6 May 2025, from 18.00 to 20.30, the Franco Parenti Theater will host the final evening of Roberta Prize for young readersinitiative aimed at first degree secondary school students from the Metropolitan City of Milan. Promoted by Maddalena Moro and Alberto Toffolettothe prize was born to encourage the love for reading, the strength of the word and the taste for the expression in young people.
The project, launched last January, involved teachers and students in a path of reading, analysis and preparation for public reading. After a first internal selection of schools, which led to the appointment of a candidate-reader for each class, a jury of experts has chosen the ten finalists who will compete for the title of best young reader of the year on the Parenti stage.
The jury that will award the final prize is made up of prominent figures of the cultural, editorial and theatrical world: Alberto Toffoletto (Honorary President), Elena Buscemi (President of the Jury 2025), Valentina Brioschi, Urban Cairo, Marco Drago, Carlo Feltrinelli, Piero Maranghi, Mariagrazia Mazzitelli, Maddalena Moro, Severino Salvemini And Andrée Ruth Shammah. Everyone accepted the invitation to be part of the project as a tribute to the memory of Roberta Guainerito which the prize is dedicated.
In addition to the prestigious title, concrete prizes are planned to feed the passion for reading and theater: the nine finalists will receive tickets for tickets for the 2025-2026 season, offered by the theaters who have joined the initiative, including Elfo Puccini Theater, Fontana Theater, MTM Theater, Italian National Insurance Theater, Piccolo Teatro and the same Franco Parenti Theater.
The absolute winner will receive A prize in books and a Voucher for a training course among those offered by the Franco Parenti Theater. Also, it will be Guest of the next edition of Bookcity Milan.
All the finalist classes will receive as a gift Books for the school librarythanks to the generosity of the publishing houses that support the initiative: Feltrinelli, De Agostini, Mondadori, Pelledoca, Salani Editore, Solferino, Valentina Edizioni.
The Roberta Prize for young readers It is more than a competition: it is a cultural investment for the new generations, an opportunity to recognize the power of the word and the beauty of listening in children.
