A ritual to adopt every evening in front of your Netflix series.
Little dresses are out and many people want to refine their silhouette as summer approaches. This time, it’s a Japanese method that promises to accelerate weight loss, and we can say that the country of the Rising Sun particularly excels in the field. Moreover, the method costs less than 3 euros and can be found in any supermarket.
Indeed, the Instagram account @beautetest.com recently published a post in which it was written: “ I lost 8 kg thanks to a Japanese method… without sport or diet! “. However, the trick would indeed have proven itself. A scientific review published in 2019 in the European Journal of Nutrition, covering 14 clinical trials and 473 participants, notably observed a reduction in body weight, BMI and waist circumference in people regularly adopting this method. The tip promises “rediscovered comfort and a visibly flatter stomach”, explaining that certain plants can help reduce digestive heaviness linked to a feeling of bloating.
Moreover, what comes up most often in Japanese methods related to food is this idea of slowing down after a meal and favoring digestible habits rather than extreme restrictions. There, hot drinks after dinner have long been part of everyday life. Certain plants are particularly appreciated in herbal teas. Ginger, for example, helps boost metabolism and avoid the bloated stomach effect after meals. Fennel is particularly appreciated against bloating, allowing, here too, a flatter stomach, while peppermint is regularly consumed for its sensation of freshness and lightness, especially in the evening after dinner. It is precisely the mixture of these three ingredients in herbal tea that guarantees to boost weight loss.
In supermarkets, you can find organic herbal tea “Divine digestion” from the Clipper brand for around 2.55 euros. This combines peppermint, fennel and ginger. The brand describes a “delicious and refreshing” drink, designed in particular to be consumed after dinner. The preparation advice remains quite classic: use fresh water, let it sit for one minute after boiling then infuse the sachet for between three and five minutes.
Obviously, herbal tea alone does not make you lose eight kilos. On the other hand, replacing certain evening habits with a lighter hot drink can help limit excesses, improve digestive comfort and reduce that feeling of a bloated stomach. A habit that can also be easily reproduced at home without buying ready-made sachets. A few pieces of fresh ginger, fennel seeds and a few mint leaves are enough to prepare a homemade version.
