What is the difference with Spanish White?
We sometimes find the appellation Blanc d’Espagne for Blanc de Meudon, however, the two powders should not be confused. The difference between these two products lies in its composition. Blanc d’Espagne, which has the same appearance, is made of clay while Blanc de Meudon is mainly made of calcium carbonate. For example, Spanish White will be used mixed with water to create a window paint that can be removed with a cloth.
Blanc de Meudon works very well on marble. Even when it is stained, it can be caught with a little detergent in addition to Blanc de Meudon. All that remains is to use the paste and spread it on the stained area of the marble. With a cloth, rub gently then clean with clean water. This method of application ensures that this noble and fragile material is not accidentally scratched or damaged.
When the sole use of Blanc de Meudon is not enough to remove a mark or residuethere is a ready-made solution. For this, there is no need to turn to industrial chemical products. All you need to do is get a little white vinegar and mix it into the dough. These two components will thus form a very powerful duo to get rid of traces who have difficulty leaving.
Blanc de Meudon and salt: for deep cleaning
For even more resistant traces, there is a plan B to use. Get some Blanc de Meudon which you will mix with a liter of water. Finally, add 25 grams of salt to obtain a slightly pasty preparation. The mixture is to be used on areas that need real deep cleaning.
Fingerprints on mirrors are not inevitable. To do this, you just need to bring, in addition to the Blanc de Meudon, some Marseille soap shavings. To use it, however, you must first dilute the shavings with a spoonful of ammonia. When handling ammonia, it is important to be careful, as this product represents a health hazard, and not to inhale the vapors. To use this mixture on mirrors, but also windows, you must clean by carrying out, using the soaked cloth, circular movements. You then have to wipe the marks with a microfiber cloth and that’s it. The mirrors and windows will be like new!

THE Blanc de Meudon is exactly like all the others ecological “grandmother’s” products and which allows you to clean the house. They can be found in most DIY stores such as Leroy Merlin, Mr Bricolage, Castorama or on Amazon and Cdiscount. There are also some large-scale retailers, but this is much rarer. Obviously, for those who are used to buying online, know that they are also found on some specialized sites.
To buy this natural product, you have to pay between 3 euros and 10 euros. It depends on the quantity and the brand selling it. On average, it costs 4 or 6 euros per kg of product.
