In France, the reindustrialization movement by start-ups is just getting started. But Innovafeed, one of the flagships of French Tech, is already a step ahead: the specialist in insect proteins is inaugurating with great fanfare, on April 18, its first factory abroad, which will complement its site of Nesle (Somme).
The company has set its sights on Decatur, an Illinois city located in the heart of the Midwest, the beating heart of the agricultural world in the United States. The factory measures 2,000 square meters and represents an investment of 10 million euros. “It is a site which was built in 2023 and whose activity began in 2024,” explains Clément Ray, the boss of Innovafeed.
