This famous European park has found a solution to pass everyone in line, without paying a cent more.
A day or a weekend at an amusement park, whether with family or friends, is generally a moment of pure euphoria… but which can quickly be spoiled by certain inconveniences. A sick child, a painful blister on the foot or even freezing rain that never stops: a little thing can ruin our enthusiasm. But what all visitors fear, especially in the largest and most famous parks, is the queue. It must be said that in some resorts, it is not uncommon for queues to last several hours.
Most amusement parks therefore offer “fast passes”, these skip-the-line which allow you to overtake everyone… provided you pay. At Disneyland Paris for example, it will sometimes cost you more than 200 euros (depending on crowds) to avoid the queue on all the rides with Premier Access Ultimate, or up to 13 euros per attraction with Premier Access One. And when we already see the price of the entry ticket, we understand that many prefer to be patient and stay in the queue. However, another park just as famous and appreciated by the French public has found another completely free solution, but which (almost) no one knows about: the VirtualLine.
It is Europa-Park, in Germany, which offers this concept: a virtual queue, accessible to everyone without paying a single extra cent. The only condition? Download the park’s app (also free, of course). All you have to do is scan your entry ticket and select one of the attractions eligible for the VirtualLine, then choose the appropriate time slot. And all that’s left to do is get to said attraction at the designated time and pass in front of everyone! The big advantage here is that you can literally be in two places at once: while waiting for your turn to arrive in the VirtualLine, you can do other attractions or activities, in order to make the most of your time without standing in line.
The disadvantage, however, is that VirtualLine is not yet available on all Europa-Park rides. But we find it on some of the most popular ones like the blue fire MegacoasterL’Euro-Mirthe aquatic rollercoaster Poseidon, but also WODAN – TimbercoasterTHE Pirates of BataviaTHE Voletarium or even the Voltron Nevera. But if you arrive late, your turn will have passed and you will have to get back into the virtual queue. Moreover, for groups, no need to each download the application: you can enter the tickets of the whole family and you will therefore all be added together in the VirtualLine.
Although it has been voted the best park in the world ten times, Europa-Park benefits from relatively low waiting times compared to its biggest competitors: according to the specialist site Queue Times, queues generally do not exceed 1 hour 10 minutes in the German complex. But if the lines are far from equaling those of the most saturated parks in the world, where you can sometimes wait more than 4 hours for an attraction, any tip to avoid waiting in line is worth taking. Even more so when it’s free!
