According to a recent study, certain famous places in the world are not worth visiting… at the risk of being disappointed! Among them, a French monument, although emblematic, leaves many tourists wanting more.
Recently, the global luggage storage network Radical Storage published a study that should be useful to travel aficionados. The company has in fact revealed the list of the most disappointing museums and other monuments in the world. For this, it was based on no less than 82,000 online reviews. And she came across the comments which spoke of endless queues, disproportionate quality-price ratios or even collections of works of art that were not up to par.
Good news, France has reason to rejoice: although France is unfortunately indeed part of this inglorious ranking, it is not in the top 3. Moreover, it is an American museum which arrives in pole position: the National Air and Space Museum in Washington has not won the fervor of the public. Then, a British museum, well known to tourists and London enthusiasts, the London Museum, is on the second step of the podium.
And the bronze medal for the most disappointing museums in the world goes to the American Museum of Natural History, located in the American capital, New York. What about France? If it is not the most disappointing French monument in this ranking, the Louvre is perceived as unconvincing by many visitors according to Radical Storage. The museum comes in eighth position in their ranking. It must be said that between the extended reservations, the photos where strangers’ faces appear and the fact that it is almost impossible to see the entire Mona Lisa, there is something to be annoyed about!
But the French monument having obtained the worst score since it is in fifth place in the ranking of the most disappointing places is the Grand Palais! This Parisian institution, completely renovated since 2021, has clearly not met with unanimous approval among the many tourists (nearly 37 million of them set foot on the cobblestones of the capital each year) who discover our capital every year.
However, the museum is full of surprises and was even one of the Olympic sites during the Paris Games in 2024. A fact which will perhaps reverse the trend in the long term.
