The method does not cost a cent and once adopted, it becomes difficult to do without it.
Spring is the season for sartorial false starts. At 8 a.m., we go out in a trench coat with a sweater. At 3 p.m., we regret the sweater. And at 7 p.m., we wonder why we didn’t take a lighter jacket. As a result, many end up wearing the same clothes over and over again. However, a fashion tip comes up regularly on the networks, especially among those who want to stay stylish without spending an hour looking for a look idea in their wardrobe.
The idea was recently put forward by Coline, a content creator known as @heyohcoco, in a YouTube video where she explains having found a very concrete way to lighten “the mental load” linked to clothes. There is no question here of talking about a minimalist wardrobe for 3,000 euros, a miracle method or a new TikTok trend that is impossible to follow. On the contrary, his advice is based on a very banal observation: many people completely forget about outfits that really suit them.
In her video, she says she started archiving her outfits several years ago and specifies: “One thing that makes my daily life easier: documenting as many of my looks as possible.” Concretely, she explains having created several files in her phone classified by year, with her outfits for 2023, then 2024, 2025 and now 2026. She also insists on the fact that this habit is not an “influencer thing”, even if her job revolves around fashion. According to her, this method especially works for people who lack inspiration in the morning or who open their wardrobe with this thought: “I have two billion clothes, but I feel like I have nothing to wear.” It illustrates: “So, I go to my little outfit folder and I scroll and I look and I say to myself, oh look, that outfit, that day, I felt really good in it. Well you know what? Go ahead, I’ll reschedule the exact same thing.”
A habit that can also be useful before the holidays. When packing a suitcase for a weekend or two weeks, she explains looking at her old silhouettes to quickly select outfits that have already been validated, rather than filling her suitcase with clothes “just in case”. You will have understood, the idea is above all to build over the months a sort of catalog of what really works for you.
And obviously, between rushed mornings, weekend departures and crises in front of the wardrobe before going for a drink on the terrace, many ultimately find it much more useful than yet another fashion advice.
